The HomeSTAR Grant is versatile and can be used in many ways to save on home ownership costs.

You can use your HomeSTAR Grant funds many different ways…

  • Use towards your closing costs and reduce your out-of-pocket costs
  • To pay off or pay down debt to help you qualify for more house or to help with your qualifying ratios
  • For repairs, home improvements or home upgrades
  • Toward your down payment (with employer participation)
  • To buy down your interest rate or mortgage insurance premium
  • Buy new appliances
  • Buy furniture, entertainment equipment
  • Improve the energy efficiency of your home

**The HomeStar Homeownership Grant Program is served by our network of certified agents across the country. To participate in this program, you must contact us through our website or by phone prior to buying or selling real estate to qualify. If you are already working with an agent, you may not qualify for HomeStar Grant benefits. Furthermore, HomeStar Grant benefits are not retroactive if you are under contract or have closed on a real estate transaction. If your home is already listed, this is not a solicitation to list your home. There is a minimum purchase/sale price of $100,000 to receive the full grant amounts. Purchase/sale rebates are based on a 3% commission rate. Purchase rebates may not be available in the states of AL, AK, IA, KS, LA, MS, OK, OR, and TN by State Law.

HomeSTAR is provided by Lifestyle Advance, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial and health wellness programs at the workplace as well as promote homeownership in the community.
