Eligibility for the HomeSTAR Grant

Qualifying for the grant is easy and open to the public.

Almost everyone qualifies for the HomeSTAR Homeownership Grant. We want you to save thousands when buying a home.

  • No repayment of the grant money – no strings attached
  • No income limit qualification like the other down payment assistance programs.
  • You can use your HomeSTAR Grant in conjunction with most other down payment and housing assistance programs.
  • Must use one of our certified real estate agents and home loan providers.
  • No restrictions on being a first-time homebuyer or existing home buyer.
  • No home buyer education requirement

**The HomeStar Homeownership Grant Program is served by our network of certified agents across the country. To participate in this program, you must contact us through our website or by phone prior to buying or selling real estate to qualify. If you are already working with an agent, you may not qualify for HomeStar Grant benefits. Furthermore, HomeStar Grant benefits are not retroactive if you are under contract or have closed on a real estate transaction. If your home is already listed, this is not a solicitation to list your home. There is a minimum purchase/sale price of $100,000 to receive the full grant amounts. Purchase/sale rebates are based on a 3% commission rate. Purchase rebates may not be available in the states of AL, AK, IA, KS, LA, MS, OK, OR, and TN by State Law.

HomeSTAR is provided by Lifestyle Advance, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial and health wellness programs at the workplace as well as promote homeownership in the community.
